BUILDING ENERGY RATINGS (BER)

BCTS Ltd offer both Residential and Commercial BER’S at competitive prices.

The Building Energy Rating (BER) is the calculated energy use for space and water heating, ventilation and lighting based on standard occupancy.  Under the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive 2002 all new homes with planning permission on or after January 2007 must have a BER certificate.

A BER certificate gives your building an energy efficiency rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient) and is valid for 10 years. BCTS Ltd can provide consultation throughout the design stage and produce provisional BER’s to assist customers with cost-saving measures while meeting all compliance requirements under TGD Part L.  We continually work with our clients during the build stage regarding any changes that are made that could affect the BER rating.  Once the buildings have reached completion our BER assessors, who are certified and registered by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI), will visit your property to conduct a survey. They will identify key items such as wall construction, insulation, boilers, hot water tanks, windows and glazing. A BER report is produced and lodged through the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland and provided to the client within 24 hours.

Throughout the design to completion stage our assessors will work alongside you throughout the process with the aim of helping you deliver a low energy building which is fully compliant with the building regulations TGD Part L.
